An air conditioning system’s efficiency declines, on average, by 5% year on year – unless you keep it maintained through regular servicing.
An air conditioning system will perform at up to 95% of its original efficiency if it is serviced every year – the cost of which is easily offset against the soaring electricity bills and repair costs of inefficient systems.
Manufacturers recommend that you only use approved, registered companies such as JC Watson to service their products, and clients can be confident that any work carried out by our engineers will be to the very highest standards. We are regularly audited by our suppliers to make sure our technical expertise and engineering skills exceed the standard required to install, service and maintain their products.
Each maintenance contract is tailored to suit individual client needs in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
At JC Watson we take our environmental responsibilities and legal requirements seriously. The refrigeration and air conditioning industry is tightly regulated and we are bound by various obligations relating to:
F gases (fluorinated greenhouse gases) are greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming if released into the atmosphere. Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) are all types of F gas. HFCs are the most common type of F gases and are mainly used as the refrigerant in air conditioning and commercial refrigeration systems.
F gases form part of the Kyoto Protocol’s ‘basket’ of greenhouse gases. The EU has taken action to contain, prevent and reduce emissions of F gases as part of its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol, introducing its EU F Gas Regulation in 2006. The obligations in this regulation are fleshed out by a number of European Commission Regulations that provide extra detail and introduce minimum requirements which must be complied with. The EU framework has been fully implemented in Britain by the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2009 (FGG Regulations 2009).
Under EC Regulations, users of air conditioning systems are now obliged to prevent emission of F gases. It is a legal requirement to have units containing 3kg, or more, of refrigerant gas inspected at regular intervals, depending on the quantity of gas in the system.
It is also illegal to sell or let a commercial building without a current air conditioning/refrigeration inspection report for systems with a duty of 12kW or more.
All our engineers are fully trained and 2079 certified and JCWR are able to undertake energy assessments on your behalf.
As a company we are both REFCOM (the register of companies competent to handle refrigerants in the UK) and REFCOM Elite certified to ensure all customers with whom we have a maintenance contract are represented in their legal obligations as the ‘operator’ of their air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
“JC Watson Refrigeration have looked after our air conditioning and refrigeration plant since 2002. They have just won the contract to extend this to 2016 and we are delighted at the Trust to be working with them again for the next five years. We have nothing but praise for the way in which they manage the contract and support the Trust with their service cover and professional approach to everything we ask them to do. We would recommend them to anyone who needs air conditioning and refrigeration service support of any kind.”
We offer both refrigeration sales and service across the country, from small-scale split installations to larger integrated works.
An approved supplier for the world’s leading climate control manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, Daikin and Toshiba Carrier.
Our 24/7, 365 days of the year maintenance back-up service and a 4-6 hours call out time will help you minimise costly downtime.
